Apply for a grant

Periodically, we are able to offer small grants of up to £500 to projects that can demonstrate measurable outcomes in the areas of freshwater habitat preservation, conservation, and creation, as well as research, including but not limited to taxonomy, phylogeny, threat assessment, in-situ and ex-situ captive breeding programs, and other works. Successful projects will be able to demonstrate tangible results of significant impact, that will benefit threatened species and/or their habitats.

We particularly favour projects that:

  1. are locally run and/or benefit local people
  2. will result in significant and measurable outcomes
  3. prioritise threatened habitats and/or species
  4. aim to prevent, stop, or reverse extirpations and extinctions of populations of species in freshwater ecosystems
